Mass production of ATC’s

atc

On the work table are some collages that will be turned into ATC’s Artist Trading Cards for a visit to Artistic Artifacts where artists trade these fun little 2.5″ x 3″ artworks. I’ve sewn together papers, watercolors, fabric and some shiny radiance papers which are then cut down to ATC size.  It’s a good way to ‘mass produce’ a lot of little collages.

Some stars

closeupTheresaMartin

I found the tiniest little gold star beads at a small local bead shop. I sewed them onto this 6″ x 6″ piece that is part of the series of nine that I’m making for the November show at Glenview Mansion Art Gallery.  The girl is from my collection of very old photographs. The dress, which looks like metal, is a wonderful material that is no longer available for purchase. It’s a plastic material that feels like cloth called Radiance Papers. It’s one of those things that I have in my studio that I’m reluctant to use, because it can’t be replaced, but I’m working on letting go of these type of things. I think she deserves her dress of gold. And I hope she has many wishes granted by those stars.
