Two 6″ x 6″ Mixed Media Collages
The photos give you an idea but this piece needs to be seen in person. Please come to my show at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery in Rockville, MD, Opening November 6th, 2016.
The felted background is made from Tibetan Yak Roving which is incredibly soft. The girl’s image was transferred onto a light green felt. The beads are Gold Delica and Christmas beads. Added to the felt are ribbons plus some of my hand dyed organza silk and cottons. The piece is approximately 10″ x 15″; it widens towards the bottom.
Please come to my show at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery in Rockville, MD, Opening November 6th, 2016 to see this piece and others in person. Follow this blog for more details and photos as the time approaches.
These are not quite the pods from the old movie, but they do remind me of pods or leaves. They are made from roving which I turn into felt, then shape and embroider. They are about 4 inches wide and range in length from 7 – 9 inches long.
