This is my work page for Artist Trading Cards for the next open meeting of JAMS. Info for the meeting is below.

JAMS (a.k.a. Judy’s altered minds)

When: Sun, June 23, 1:30pm – 4:30pm
Where: Artistic Artifacts, 4750 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22304 (map)
Description: Note date change from usual 3rd Sunday to 4th Sunday this month! Judy’s Altered Minds (JAMs) is open to anyone interested in Altered Art — both fabric and non fabric art. There is a sit fee of $3.00 per person. We start with ATC Trade at 1:00, group meeting and announcements. Then one show and tell item. We try to arrange a demo, informational part of each meeting, email us to volunteer.

Earlier I wrote about the little 3″ x 4″ black sketch books by Pentalic. They have 160 pages. I’ve filled two books with drawings and am working on a third. They are addictive to work in and lovely to hold.

In my next Noir Magic class, there will be an option to purchase a little blank book for use during the class and beyond.

Class is Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Artistic Artifacts in Alexandria VA

What I’ve been doing:

I’m planning to sell these finished books at the Fall Market at Artistic Artifacts. Date to be determined.

Stitch and Slash ATCs

Once a month many talented persons gather at Artistic Artifacts in Alexandria, VA. Part of the meeting is show and tell of new work. We also exchange ATCs, (2.5″ x 3.5″ artist trading cards) before the meeting.  This month’s ATCs use the stitch and slash technique I found here. It was fun and a good way to use some of the fabric pieces I’ve collected.

Digital Collage Artist Trading Cards

Every month there is an ATC (Artist Trading Card 2.5″ x 3.5″) trade at Artistic Artifacts in Alexandria. My offering will be 12 small fabric digital collages. On wispy see through organza I printed out a collage which I placed over hand dyed fabric.  They were then stitched with gold metallic thread.

Soon I will be teaching this technique at Artistic Artifacts. The class will be in two parts, beginning with the digital collage aspect. The second class will cover making a print out and selecting fabric for the design.  Details will be posted here as soon as I have the dates!

Mass production of ATC’s

atc

On the work table are some collages that will be turned into ATC’s Artist Trading Cards for a visit to Artistic Artifacts where artists trade these fun little 2.5″ x 3″ artworks. I’ve sewn together papers, watercolors, fabric and some shiny radiance papers which are then cut down to ATC size.  It’s a good way to ‘mass produce’ a lot of little collages.
