All the work has been delivered to Glenview Mansion Art Gallery and it promises to be a great show. The Opening is Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 from 1:30 to 3:30 but there are other days to see the show before it closes on Nov. 23, 2016.  Our part is done and the work is now in the capable hands and great vision of Gallery Director Julie Farrell. She is the one who places the work and makes the vision of four different artists sing together.

Some stars

I found the tiniest little gold star beads at a small local bead shop. I sewed them onto this 6″ x 6″ piece that is part of the series of nine that I’m making for the November show at Glenview Mansion Art Gallery.  The girl is from my collection of very old photographs. The dress, which looks like metal, is a wonderful material that is no longer available for purchase. It’s a plastic material that feels like cloth called Radiance Papers. It’s one of those things that I have in my studio that I’m reluctant to use, because it can’t be replaced, but I’m working on letting go of these type of things. I think she deserves her dress of gold. And I hope she has many wishes granted by those stars.

 

The four person show promises to be a good one.
